Don't You Think This Outlaw Bit's Done Got Out of Hand?
My creative journey is a colorful dance of intuition and experimentation, where rules are mere suggestions and boundaries are meant to be pushed. Embracing a bold and bright palette, I aim to challenge the norm and reestablish what it means to create art through the lens of a Black Painter’s abstractive point of view.
As someone raised in the Bible Belt, there were a lot of limitations and expectations put upon me. Growing up as a sports athlete forced me to follow a conventional path athletes typically go down. I knew that predetermined path wasn’t for me. So, I took a more creative approach to life.
My interest in art was an act of rebellion. I see my art, not only as a source of aesthetic pleasure but also as a form of resistance, empowerment, and healing.
Influenced by Western Films and Outlaw Country Music, I aim to create paintings that encapsulate the travels, stories, longing, and vulnerability of a drifter on the run from no one, but himself.
